How Costwise makes money

Costwise is free to use. We earn in three ways, and only when you choose to act: a fee if you use a quote partner we introduce you to, occasional affiliate commission on marked links, and the price of our optional Renovation Project Pack if you buy it. None of them ever changes the prices or advice you see.

Installer quotes (lead generation)

We no longer run a quote form of our own, so we never collect or pass on your details. On 40 guides, the 10 cost calculators for the same jobs, and the driveway costs page, the form on the page belongs to Leads Do Work and you fill in theirs; on the other pages that offer quotes, the button links to Bark and you fill in theirs. If that leads to a job, they may pay us a fee for the introduction. You are never charged, and we never hold your information at any point.

Affiliate links

On a few pages (for example boilers, heat pumps and solar) we link to suppliers who can give a fixed online price. If you buy through one of those links we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. Those links are marked, and they never affect our price guides or which option we suggest.

Our Renovation Project Pack

We sell one product: the Renovation Project Pack, a £19 set of templates for running a renovation, sold through Whop, which processes the payment. It contains no guide prices, and nothing on this site is written or priced to sell it: every guide, calculator and free download stays free whether or not you buy it.

What we do not do

We do not take payment to change a price, rank a supplier higher, or write a fake review. Our figures are independent. Read how we price for the detail.
