Enter your measurements in metres. Everything updates as you type, and nothing is sent anywhere.
Standard plasterboard sheets are 2.4m by 1.2m, with 1.8m by 0.9m also common. Figures include 10% for waste and cuts. Screw and adhesive counts are approximate: about 25 drywall screws per board when screw-fixing, or roughly one 25kg bag of adhesive per board when dot-and-dabbing. Add multiple walls and ceilings together for the total area.
Common questions
How many plasterboard sheets do I need?
Work out the total area of the walls or ceiling, then divide by the coverage of one board. A standard 2.4m by 1.2m sheet covers 2.88 square metres. The calculator does it for you and adds 10% for waste and cuts.
How much adhesive for dot and dab?
Roughly one 25kg bag of drywall adhesive per standard board is a reasonable guide, though it depends on how uneven the wall is behind. Screw-fixing to timber or metal studs uses no adhesive, just about 25 drywall screws per board.
