Enter your measurements in metres. Everything updates as you type, and nothing is sent anywhere.
UK turf is usually sold by the square metre or in rolls of about 1 square metre each. The calculator adds 5% for shaping around curves and cutting in edges. For an odd-shaped lawn, split it into rectangles and add them up.
Common questions
How much turf do I need?
Measure the length by the width of the lawn in metres for the area, and add about 5% for shaping and offcuts. UK turf rolls are usually 1 square metre each, so the square metres and the number of rolls come out much the same.
How much extra turf should I order?
Around 5% to 10% extra is sensible, more if the lawn has lots of curves or awkward edges. Turf is perishable, so order it to arrive the day you are laying it rather than stockpiling it.
